Rome Day 2

Finally got some sleep and got going around 9:30a. We took the Metro (Subway) to Vatican City to St. Peter’s Basilica for church service at 10:30a and explored the inside of the Basilica.

Climbed to the Cupola on top of St. Peter’s Dome and got a great view of the city.

Stopped at a local café for some lunch

Took the bus to the Coliseum. No, that was the bus to the train station… Wait, we are back where we started… WTH????

 

 

Turns out all the roads were closed around the Coliseum and none of the buses would go there. We finally walked up to the Coliseum (a 10 minute walk that we should have made an hour ago)….

And decided it was too late to take a tour; we decided we would return on Tuesday. Took the Metro back to the apartment, stopped for a refill on groceries and drinks and got ready for Monday.,
